We are very fortunate that we have so much to choose from when it comes to studying for the “written” exam you’ll need to take and also for the “Oral” exam at the end of your training.
Our instructors understand the tremendous amount of learning necessary for the comprehension of FAA regulations, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, meteorology, just to name a few areas of knowledge. We encourage self-study mostly, but are available to guide you through your study, to help you understand multiple concepts and to keep you motivated in your journey. Once you reach the “solo” stage of training, then cross-country work begins and we’re more actively involved with your “ground”.
We do charge our hourly rate when conducting “ground” time with you. Generally, there is a pre-brief time before your flight lesson and a de-brief time at the end of your lesson. It is cost-effective to arrive for your lesson well prepared and having studied the appropriate material.
We offer the Gleim Study kit at a reasonable cost that includes everything you need to learn and progress through your ground and flight training, and to prepare you for your exams. We also offer a few supplies such as logbooks, the FAR AIM (FAA regs) and local charts.
